Three weeks old!

Above : an available little boy, smiling at me (actually he was trying to yawn but it looks like a smile!) =) Below is a little boy (blue camo collar) yawning also. Below right is Dusty, sitting like a good little boy.

They are playing now a LOT! =) They matured in the past two days really fast! They are also starting to find their voices and learning to growl and bark at each other. When Teva walks into the pen, they go nuts trying to scramble over each other to get to her. Walking has improved greatly! =) They can now wag their tails too! And if you flip them over and rub their belly just so, their back leg will start to twitch =)

They seemed to really like the cedar chips in their pen. Now they are moving around more because it's easier for them to walk than on a bed. They don't really need the bed in there anymore. Now it's fun for me..I get to clean up cedar chips ALL THE TIME =) Teva gets in and out and in and out and drags cedar chips all over the house =) At least it smells good!

We have 3 boys and 2 girls still left in this litter!

More Pictures

The puppies are starting to play with each other an interact with each other. I am going to take the newspaper out of their pen this afternoon and put cedar chips in instead so it's easier to clean up after them. They are starting to be old enough now that they go to the bathroom on their own and so it's easier for me to clean up cedar chips than newspapers. (When puppies are first born they can't go to the bathroom on their own, but the mother will lick them and promt them to go, and then she cleans it up.) But now..I am needing to clean more up..so cedar chips it is =) Plus, it smells better in our laundry room to have cedar chips.

I had a few friends over to celebrate Mark's birthday, but the puppies ended up being the main focus of the evening =)

More pictures to come on Tuesday....when they are 3 weeks old. I'll try to catch a few playing together.

They have sight!!!

They can see!!! The puppy's eyes started opening up yesterday evening. Almost all of them are open today. They are walking even better today and now want to explore their new found world....w hich is all of about 4 x 7. Above is a little boy.
Below left is Sierra (a spoken for little girl) and on the right is a little girl. (As you pick your puppy out, I will continue to post pictures online of it weekly so you can see him/her grow.)

Reef is still confused by these sqeaky small things that seem attached to his playmate, Teva.

Week Two

The puppies are now walking!! They first started a little bit on Friday, and now they are scooting about better and better. They walk like toddlers first learn to walk, very tipsey and unsure. It would help if they could see before they can walk =).
They are really close to opening their eyes and we have noticed they now are responding to my voice. So they are starting to hear! They start to hear and see around the same time.

Mark tried to upload a video of the puppies walking to the blog, but we don't have the right program for it to work. Sorry! But I'll keep posting pictures up!

Sleep Eat Sleep

Puppies sleeping soundly. It's a tough life!

Andddd...more sleeping. Eat every once in a while. Back to sleeping!

Reef must have felt bad for Teva. He decided her ears needed cleaned and face licked off. He showed her some TLC.

Monday 4/13 ~ Almost one week old

Teva and puppies are doing great! The smallest puppy weighs 3/4 a lb. and the largest weighs 1.5 lbs. They have over doubled in size since born.

Above, Teva napping in the corner of the kitchen. She carried her babies out there to nap out there. She is worn out taking care of 13 babies!

The puppies had a lot of company this weekend. Mark and Sue and their 3 kids stopped by. Mark's family came down to Williamsburg and also stopped in. And today, Karina and her kids and Morgan came over to say hi. The puppies loved being held. Although Teva got nervous with all the activity around her puppies. She is a wonderful mom!

Teva and Brady ~ Parents of puppies

Teva gave birth to 13 healthy puppies on April 7th, 2009. Seven boys and six girls! They are a variety of colors ranging from lighter to dark.

The pictures above are of Teva ("mom") and the pictures below are of Brady ("dad"). In the picture of two Goldens below, Brady is the one standing up.

Teva is a beautiful purebred Golden Retriever with AKC paperwork. She was bred to Brady. Brady also has his AKC paperwork, along with his hip certifications. Brady's father had his hip and eye certifications. The puppies will all have AKC paperwork if you would like to register them.

Teva is has a wonderful temperament! She is a very loyal dog and eager to please! She loves our family and is very kind. She is great with children! Overall, she is the best Golden I can imagine! (I am a bit biased=) We do not have Brady on premises. He lives down in Chesapeake, VA. His "mom" raves about him also and he has all the positives traits you want to see in a Golden.
Both "mom" and "dad" of the puppies are midtoned colored. Some of the puppies are lighter/whiter and some are darker/amber. It's hard to tell yet what color they will turn out, but there is a wide variety of colors in this litter!

They are here!!
